The Energy Cure

The demands of life today often pull our energy in multiple directions, leaving us depleted and overwhelmed. Gulping down a Red Bull or relying on adrenaline for energy is not a long-term solution, but is being treated as such, thus causing many stress-related illnesses.

Learning how to harness and manage your personal energy can elevate you from survival mode to a place where you thrive.

Here are some easy-to-implement tips to improve your energy levels throughout the day:

  1. Increase your water intake, the best and most undervalued source of energy. The ideal amount is half your body weight in ounces of water daily.
  2. Take breaks every 90 to 120 minutes. They can be as short as five minutes, but the key is to completely disconnect.
  3. Consider replacing your afternoon coffee pick-me-up with one of the “stress relief” herbal teas on the market. My favourite is AdrenaTea by Lorna Vanderhaeghe. This delicious new product is comprised of herbs that support adrenal balance, calm, and rejuvenates.
Lastly, whenever possible, follow the lead of British airline magnate and billionaire Richard Branson. When asked how he stays so energized, he stated: “I take time away to recharge.....the economy would be much more efficient and there’d be more creativity, if people had more time away”.
