Rimmel makes an eyeliner pencil with a smudger on the opposite end. So it's good for daytime when you just want to define your eyes, then again at night, when you might want to smudge it for that smoky look. And I love their eye pencils, I find I may have to reapply some days late in the day or evening but I don't have a problem with it running or smudging on it's own (the racoon look?). Actually I love most Rimell products, most of the make up I use is Rimmel, so if you see me recommend it whenever a question about cosmetics comes up,sorry...lol.
BTW, the last 3 times I bought Rimmel mascara it came with a free eye pencil, one was the one with the smudger, that's how I ended up trying it cuz I hadn't even seen it before. So, watch for those free ones, the same store will have both the mascara alone and the mascara with the free pencil, so you'll have to look or ask the cosmetician about it. In fact the first time I got the pencil, I was just buying the mascara and the cosmetician took it back and brought me one with the free pencil. This was at SDM btw.
I've also tried the liquid eyeliner, but usually only use it when going out at night, it seems to have a more dramatic effect.
