I know that using an art brush can sometimes
be more cost conscious and equally as effective as an expensive makeup brush. Has anyone used any art brushes for makeup application? I've been to Michaels etc to look at their brushes, but would like some suggestions or advice. Thanks! btw there should be a forum for makeup only ![]() Last edited by browneyed; Nov 5, 2009 at 06:10 PM. Yeah, people use art brushes as make up brushes sometimes. I haven't done it myself, but this Youtube video might help: YouTube - MAC Brushes vs Painting Brushes
Also, if you plan on going to Michaels's, you can save some money by using their 40% / 50% coupons. You can find them in their weekly flyers. Or you can sign up online for their e-newsletter and they'll send you some. I also recommend buying some brushes from ELF. The prices are amazing. You just have to check makeupalley.com to see which ones are good because some are excellent while some are kinda crappy. I love their Studio line's powder brush =) |

I've heard that a few of the paint brushes or craft brushes are actually pretty good for applying makeup, and cheaper as well. I would recommend getting a fine tip paint brush for applying gel liners, or a small angled paint brush for applying shadow at the inner corner of the eye.
