Gift cards can be a little too impersonal for some, and you don't know if the person will appreciate it. A nice stationary set, if you work in an office, or an MP3 player (you can get some for 20 dollars). A glove and scarf set, as someone already mentioned can be very practical. A book might be nice also.

I was at shoppers and saw one of those burts bees packs. It's gender neutral, and the price needed. How would you feel if you got a gift like that?

I recently saw a pair at H&M, but they were in the women's section. How about natural, organic soaps from LUSH? Their products are great.
